Well,let's get started. To use Jio 4G Sim in your 3G Smartphone, You need a Jio Sim first. Right?? So follow this..

How to Get Jio Sim for 3G Smartphones :

Reliance Jio Sim is not Officially available for 3G smartphones. So you have to Get a Jio sim in Official method and the sim must be activated in a 4G smartphone before using the below tricks. Or You can Port your current sim card to Jio and avail the Jio Welcome Offer.



How to Use JIO 4G SIM in 3G Phones ?


Trick #1 - How to Use Jio Sim in Mediatek Devices :


This trick will Work only in Mediatek Chipset Devices. So first of all, you have to check whether your phone is a Mediatek device or not. Go to Phone Setting >> About Phone >> CPU to check Whether Your Phone With Mediatek chipset Or not. If not dont'try this..


1. First Of all, Download And MTK Engineering Mode app here.

Note:-The MTK MODE App allows you to run Advanced Setup Like SERVICE MODE Of Your Phone Which Is Not Directly Accessible,So Use the secret menu very carefully!! The Wrong Can Brick Your Android Device if you don’t know what you are doing then don’t do it!!
2. Install & Open the MTK Engineering Mode app

3. Now Click on MTK Settings and Then Select Preferred Network Option.

4. From Network Modes, Select 4G LTE/WCDMA/GSM as network mode

5. Save The Settings and reboot your device

6. After Doing All Above Steps , put Your JIO 4G SIM on your 3G phone

7. Within a Few Minuites, you will get JIO Network Coverage Means Now You can Use JIO SIM In This 3G Phone

8. Thats it!! Enjoy Unlimited Free JIO 4G Internet in your 3G device.


Trick #2 - How to Use Jio Sim in Qualcomm Devices (Tested in Redmi 1s and Moto G) :



1. First Of all, Download The Shortcut Master Lite App here.

2. Install & Open Shortcut Master Lite app.

Note:- Use the app Very carefully, The Wrong Can Brick Your Android Device if you don’t know what you are doing then don’t do it!!

3. Go To Menu and Search for Service Menu  Or  Engineering Mode

4. To get The Best Results Just Select System App Option. If Found then open it and access to Change LTE Bands

5. Power Off the Device and Insert Jio Sim in First Slot & Check Whether You Are Getting Signals Or Not.

7. Done !! Enjoy Unlimited Free JIO 4G Internet.


If the above Doesn’t Work :


1. Dial *#2263# in your dialer.

2. Select Menu And Click Back.

3. Again Select Menu.

4. Then Go To Key Input And Enter 0000 .

5. Then Wait For Couple Of Seconds ,after that You Will Get a Popup Menu.

6. Select UE Settings From the Popup Menu.

7. Now navigate to Setting > Protocol > NAS > Network Control > Band Selection > LTE Band > Band 40

8. Power Off your Device and Insert Jio Sim  in First Slot.

9. Check Whether You Are Getting Signals Or Not.

10. Done Enjoy Unlimited Free JIO 4G Internet



Trick #3 - How to Use Jio Sim in Moto G and Moto E  (Tested on 1st Generation)


 1. First of all, dial *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer.

 2. Now a Testing Menu will open.

 3. Click on Phone Information



4. Scroll down and Click on Set Preferred Network Type



5. Select the LTE/GSM auto (PRL) option and close it



6. Now Switch off your mobile put Jio Sim in slot 1 and keep the second slot empty.

 7. Switch on now then you will see Jio 4G signal in your mobile

 8. Done!!


If you think you Will Get Only 3G Speed As Your Phone, That's wrong!! JIO SIM Recognise Your 3G phone as 4G Device and you will surely get 4G Speed.

    "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)" tried this setting on MOTO G handset but this option does not get selected from the drop down. it goes back to GSM only.
    Do you had any other option.

    I tried the same steps with Moto E-1st generation, it's automatically back to GSM only after restarting the device

    i tried in my moto e(1st gen)
    did the same, selected the LTE/GSM AUTO PRL
    switched off my phone inserted jio sim and TADAA ,no signal..
    when i again dialed *#*#4636#*#* LTE has come back to WCDMA ..
